Yoga is life. Yoga is breath. Yoga is a sense of inward and outward connection with the physical and spiritual self. Yoga is community. Yoga is individuality. Yoga will wake you up and it will give you exactly what your soul/body needs right here, right now. ️
These are just a few of the concepts that I have learned throughout my yoga journey over the last ten years. As a spiritual person by nature, who has always practiced the sacred art of yoga, I knew my next calling in life was to take my practice beyond the mat, and branch it out to others, to share in the beauty that yoga can be, because Yoga is for everyone. It is the perfect prescription for anyone who wants to make a change in their life. Stress, anxiety, sadness, regret, loneliness, limited range of motion, pain, physical discomfort, and lack of sense of self are just some of the ailments that the average person faces today. I, myself have been pained with some of these issues in my past, and yoga and my faith have always been my saviors. 🏽
In deciding to take part in the YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) at Medwell this past Fall, I never anticipated having the experience I did. Sure, I knew I would learn some new cool asanas, learn to deepen my breathworth, & grasp some philosophy behind yogic tradition, but I never imagined it would open up my world to a brand new set of wonderful women and teachers who I am now proud to call friends. And that takes me back to my above statement about yoga being community. Some people yoga to get in shape, and others yoga to feel a connection to others. I have been fortunate to experience both. Thank you Medwell Spa and Yoga Studio for holding space for me and my fellow Sanga, and for giving me the platform to share my experience with others. Thank you to Marilyn and Jessica for continuing to teach me the art of humility and gratitude. These elements are “golden nuggets” that I pass down to my children each and everyday. I will be forever grateful.
